Description

Aged for ten years, this Bottled in Bond bourbon hails from Warehouse C, a structure built by Col. Taylor himself in 1885. The barrel warehouse was an integral part of his “model distillery” and a project he took great pride in. Like some of its predecessor releases, the E.H. Taylor, Jr Warehouse C Bourbon is a one-time-only bottling and is extremely limited in availability.

The barrels used in the E.H. Taylor Jr. Warehouse C release were all aged for a decade in the heart of Warehouse C. Half of these barrels came from the second floor, while the other half originated from the fifth. The second floor of the warehouse, known for its tight ricks and dry conditions, is ideal for aging older barrels, making it perfect for 10 to 15-year-old products. On the other hand, the fifth floor boasts windows all around, allowing for excellent air flow and ample sunlight, factors that contribute to accelerating the aging process.

These optimal aging locations resulted in a remarkable flavor blend. The bourbon greets with a nose of cherry cobbler with rum sauce and a hint of oak. The palate is treated to notes of cherry cola, vanilla bean, and toasted oak. Lastly, a long and lingering finish leaves hints of spearmint, coffee, raisin bread, and anise. This harmonious combination of flavors showcases the exceptional quality of the barrels’ aging process.
