Description
The Glenlivet 14 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a testament to the art of whisky maturation. This unique spirit is aged in bourbon and sherry casks before a portion is finished in top-quality ex-cognac casks for at least six months. This process results in a whisky bursting with sweet and fruity aromas.
Inspired by Captain Bill Smith Grant, the great-grandson of Founder George Smith, The Glenlivet 14 Year Old stands as a proud homage to the Speyside craft. The whisky develops its distinctive notes of raisin and citrus during its journey from bourbon and sherry casks to a selective finish in cognac casks. A portion of this whisky has been matured in casks that previously held Cognac, adding an extra layer of complexity to its character.
On the nose, this whisky presents a tempting fruit aroma followed by a hint of subtle spice. The palate is treated to succulent flavors of ripe poached pears, mandarins in syrup, and chocolate-coated raisins. The finish is incredibly smooth and luscious, leaving a lasting impression of the rich Speyside craft.
